Dear SSR Supporters,

I am reaching out to urgently seek assistance regarding a situation that has arisen within our organization. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I find myself in need of immediate help in rehoming a significant number of dogs.

Unfortunately, unauthorized decisions were made by volunteers without permission obtained from the rescue and it has left me facing a near hoarding situation, with approximately 40-50 puppies and adults in need of placement. These dogs have been vetted, although the process is not yet complete. I am actively seeking solutions to ensure their well-being and timely placement.

The current situation has incurred substantial costs, with veterinary expenses totaling $560 per day at one clinic alone. While I am grateful for the recent assistance of a generous individual who helped cover a portion of these costs, I still require further support to ensure the continued care of these animals.

I am appealing to your organization, as well as any individuals or groups you may know, for assistance in facilitating the rehoming of these dogs. Any assistance with logistics or funding would be greatly appreciated.

If you or anyone you know can offer assistance or advice in this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me at your earliest convenience. I am available to provide further information and coordinate any necessary arrangements.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please email me at info@shenandoahrescue.org if you can assist in any way. Sincerely,

Jennifer Aufdenberg

How we're making a difference

SSR dogs
Texas has one of the highest shelter euthanasia rates in the United States.  With thousands of stray dogs living on the streets, low spay & neuter rates, and an overburdened shelter system, these dogs desperately need help. Our mission is to make a significant difference through the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of German Shepherds (& friends) from South Texas.
