Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue focuses our rescue efforts on dogs at risk of euthanasia, neglect, or abuse in southern Texas.  However, we do occasionally intake owner surrenders. Each Owner Surrender Request is reviewed and considered on a case-by-case basis, and evaluated against any open foster homes we have available.

Due to the overwhelming number of Owner Surrender Requests we receive each week, we are unable to respond to every request. 

Note: Submitting an Owner Surrender Request Form does NOT guarantee your dog's acceptance into SSR. 

We recommend completing the OWNER SURRENDER REQUEST from a desktop computer if possible.

Due to the dozens of inquiries we receive daily, we are unable to reply to each and every surrender request.  We will reach out if we have an available foster home open for your dog, or resources available to help keep the dog in your home.  

If you are attempting to surrender a previously adopted SSR dog, please also email dogs@shenandoahrescue.org.
