ssr's response and counter complaint
legal response addressing the allegations made by former VP and our counter complaint
As you may be aware, Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue (SSR) removed its former Vice President (VP) in May 2024. Over the past five months, we have worked diligently with legal counsel, reviewing and organizing extensive documentation, including thousands of emails, text messages, and social media posts, to thoroughly address the matters that led to her removal from the organization. Through this collection process, we have received feedback from volunteers, donors, followers, as well as Texas rescuers and residents who voiced concerns about the former VP's management of SSR operations.

Below is our legal response addressing the allegations made by the former VP and our counter complaint. The counter complaint presented here reflects the culmination of our efforts and is aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability. For transparency, the original complaint is included at the bottom of this page.
While the former VP frequently uses first-person possessive language, Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue is not owned by any individual. SSR operates as a charitable organization licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia, adhering to state regulations and guidelines.
